With the introduction of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 it was assumed that this meant that every building in the land had to be surveyed. Wrong!
What was introduced was a duty to manage the asbestos that was contained within any non-domestic property. This duty is still retained within the current Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
At this point you should ask yourself some pertinent questions:
Do you have a management plan?
Does it work?
Do my employees and contractors understand it?
When was it last reviewed?
If you don’t have a positive response to all of these questions then it is time that you contacted us to help before it is too late - you have a duty to manage any asbestos contained within your premises.
